Message from the Symposium General-Chairs ISORC 2013
Welcome to the Sixteenth IEEE International Symposium on Object, Component, and Service-Oriented Real-Time Distributed Computing (ISORC 2013), and to the city of Paderborn, which is part of a high-tech region in Germany.
From its inception sixteen years ago, ISORC has undergone a significant but coherent expansion in scope. The first few symposiums concentrated primarily on the application of object-oriented technology. Subsequently, component-based development concerns were added to the milieu, and, most recently, we are seeing an increased focus on service-oriented systems. In all cases, ISORC has concentrated on issues related to the application of these innovative technologies to real-time and distributed systems, providing a necessary venue for the interchange of experiences and technical discussions.
Together with the main symposium, ISORC 2013 is also organizing the following workshop on recent advances and challenges in real-time, distributed, and service-oriented systems:
- SORT 2013 (The Fourth IEEE Workshop on Self-Organizing Real-Time Systems)
Further workshops will be announced soon.
This year ISORC will be held together with the International Embedded Systems Symposium (IESS 2013, www.iess.org). To bring ISORC and IESS together was a dream of Prof. Kane Kim, the founder of the ISORC series. We are very proud to make his dream come true.
We hope you will enjoy the conference and your stay in Paderborn, Germany!
